An incredible weekend of solidarity: a rally on Nakba day in front of the station followed by the opening of the Gaza Film Festival at the Showroom giving insight inot the continued resilience of Palestinian people who endure indescribable conditions in Gaza and daily attacks in the West Bank.
The coach to London on Saturday laid bare the lie that these are hate marches – its total absence for a start and a clear line of solidarity and anti-racism from a diverse crowd. Meanwhile the depth of the Palestine Liberation movement in Sheffield was shown by being able to send coaches to London and have a great rally in front of the Town Hall.
On Day two of the Gaza Film festival, the main film was The Last Field, a moving account from press members of their experience under the bombs and of seeing their colleagues murdered by the Israeli onslaught. What stood out was their professionalism and bravery. Please watch out for this and other films being shown again in Sheffield
