On 5th December, Amnesty International added its voice to the charge that Israel is carrying out genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. Its report came just 3 days after Keir Starmer spoke, with a reported 100 Labour MPs also in attendance, at the pro-Israel lobby’s annual dinner. Starmer uttered not a word of criticism of Israel, condemned the BDS movement and said that while the government respected the independence of the International Criminal Court he rejected “any equivalence between Israel – a democracy, and Hamas – a terrorist organisation”.
