Constructed around real-life recordings of 5year old Hind and the Ramallah-based Red Crescent communications and support crew, it involves us directly in a particularly heartrending massacre by the genocidal IDF forces. Movingly illustrates the practical and emotional bonds between Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza which play a part in the resistance.

Join Sheffield Transformed for the Sheffield premiere of 'Khartoum' at the *Broomhall Centre on Thursday 5th February from 7:30pm*, and help raise money for SOS For Sudan. Book your tickets NOW at: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/sheffieldtransformed/2012189

The film, which was released in 2025 and nominated for awards at several international film festivals, charts the lives of five people in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, which has been ravaged by by an extremely brutal civil war since 2023.

All profits from ticket sales will be donated to SOS For Sudan, a mutual aid organisation for Sudanese people seeking sanctuary in Sheffield. Alongside funding material aid such as clothing 👖and medication🩺for those in refugee camps in Sudan and those who are newly arrived in Sheffield, they also run many excellent community initiatives including English lessons and conversation clubs 🗣️, a weekly meal 🍲, opportunities to play sports ⚽ and a mental health support club 🫂

Members of Sheffield's Sudanese community will be at the screening to talk about their experience of leaving Sudan in the wake of the conflict, as well as the historical context of the conflict and what people can do to show solidarity with the Sudanese people.
