Ninety percent of Palestinians in Gaza are now displaced, most seeking refuge in makeshift shelters with inadequate supply of food, water and medication. School buildings have been preferred shelters because some still have water and toilet facilities but Israel has destroyed over 500 since October 7th and has bombed nine since the beginning of August, killing hundreds of people. Last Wednesday (22 August), the Israeli army ordered the residential areas of Deir el-Balah to be evacuated. Read more
