Every year at this time, ready for the autumn term, the Sheffield Palestine Women’s Scholarship Fund sends out the funds we’ve raised to Palestine. Our scholarships enable young women, who lack financial support, to gain a university education.
But this year we have heard nothing from Gaza. We know one student, Malak Khudair Jaber Ali, has been killed, and we fear many more may have been. It is not only our students. There are no universities in Gaza. The Israeli army has not left one standing and large numbers of lecturers and professors have been killed.
