Palestinian activist and once Sheffield resident and lecturer, Dr Shahd Abusalama, will be in Sheffield to discuss her new book on Sunday June 15th at the Showroom.
The book concerns representations of Palestinians in western cultural production – from Pathe news to humanitarian representations from UN bodies such as UNWRA – and then looks at representations of Gazan refugees in Palestinian film .
It will be magnificent to welcome Dr.Abusalama back to Sheffield. She had been an outspoken member of the Palestinian community in Sheffield before she was wrongly dismissed by Sheffield Hallam University activist, who she took to court and won her case.
