On Saturday (13th June) US made F-16 planes dropped bombs on the Al-
Mawasi district of Khan Younis that had been designated by Israel as a safe
zone. It was densely packed with displaced people seeking shelter. Israel
claimed the attack had as its intended target, the Hamas military leader
Mohamed Deif. The attack killed over 90 people many of them children,
around 300 were injured.
Following the massacre, in a press conference held in Hebrew for the Israeli
media, Netanyahu declared that he had approved the operation with knowledge
of the likely “collateral damage”. Not a single Israeli journalist asked how he
could justify such an operation given the number of Palestinians killed and
