Recently, on Radio 4’s Today programme, Israeli spokesman David Mencer dismissed Dr Khamis Elessi as “pseudo-medical staff”.
Dr Elessi, below right, is a distinguished medic, displaced from his Gazan home but still working in Al Ahli hospital in the worst conditions imaginable – he is a consultant in Neurorehabilitation and Pain Medicine, Associate Professor and Head of Evidence-Based Medicine in the Islamic University of Gaza and Fellow of the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine at Oxford University. Nothing “pseudo” about this man!
