Boycott coca cola

Back in December 2023, the coca cola xmas truck came to Sheffield. It was met with robust opposition.

Coca cola has factories in West Bank settlements and profits from the occupation and as a result we are asking people and business to boycott coca cola and other of their products. These Sheffield business have refused to stock Coca Cola products.

We issued a press statement as follows:

We are calling on people of Sheffield to boycott all Coca-Cola products until they
stop operating on stolen Palestinian land, in violation of international law.

Coca-Cola violates international law by operating on stolen Palestinian land. They
have a factory in Atarot, an illegal Israeli settlement built in violation of international
law, on stolen Palestinian land in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

While Israel resumes its bombing of Gaza with tens of thousands of people killed
and injured, the illegal Israeli settlers and Israeli army have intensified their attacks
on Palestinian communities inside the West Bank, with 240 Palestinians killed in the
last two months [by Tuesday 28th November].

Sheffield people have a long history of boycotts in support of oppressed people: from
the sugar boycott against slavery, to being the first UK anti-apartheid city during the
campaign against apartheid in South Africa.

We picketed the “iconic red lorry” both at the Gypsy Queen on Friday afternoon and then Meadowhall on Sunday afternoon. We have also started a campaign to ask shops in Darnall to stop selling Coca-Cola products, with great success so far, and
seek to spread this campaign across the whole of Sheffield.
