Actions for hunger strikers in Sheffield

In the final station rally before Xmas, activists went in to Sheffield Station to sing carols ‘re-arranged’ for the occasion. Here is In the Bleak Midwinter in Sheffield. Thanks to Graham Wroe for recording and subtitling so quickly.

Earlier in the week activists demonstrated at the Sheffield outpost of the Ministry of Justice on Monday and Thursday, as the government , and David Lammy in particular , the Secretary of State for Justice, continue to refuse to meet the hunger strikers of the representatives.

On both days about 60 activists chanted drummer and sang outside to many toots of support from passing traffic.

Meanwhile on Wednesday a number of activists entered the Town Hall in an attempt, given the urgency of the situation, to make contact with political representatives. Two Green councillors made contact and expressed their support and a Labour councillor issued a statement of support.

Tuesday was digital action day but we would encourage making calls at anytime on any day – numbers are in the poster below.
