Around England Wales and Scotland, different groups have been reading names of children killed by Israel since 2023 in Gaza. Over 20000 have been slaughtered and this list may well not be a complete record.
In Nottingham recently, they chose to read the names of those children under 5 who had died. It took them 6 hours. In Bath they chose to stop at 1am with several thousand still left to read and will reconvene.
In Sheffield, on 5th September, from 6am till midnight we will read from a list provided by throughthecracks , in turn sourced from Palestine Datasets.
We are doing this to honour their memory, to stand in solidarity with their families, and to recall that these were people who have a left a footprint on this earth. And becuase Israel would ban their names being published.
