In 1981 Sheffield City Council declared Sheffield an Apartheid Free Zone. To clarify the meaning of an apartheid free zone they issued a statement with eight bulleted points of actions they would take to ensure this happened.
We are looking for a similar statement from the council in 2024 to ensure Sheffield has nothing to do with Israeli Apartheid and the genocide now taking place in Gaza. This is a range of actions from financial divestment (in pensions and procurement) to cultural boycott .
