Six members of the Filton 24, on remand for nearly two years , now enter their fifth week on hunger strikers and this is taking an inevitable toll on their bodies with some very weak. Detailed information is on the Prisoners For Palestine site.
Even so, finally they have been noticed by the press. The Morning Star did a front page this week and the Guardian ran an update from a family member. And MPs are taking notice too – an Early Day Motion (EDM) has been proposed by John McDonnell and supported by others.
Please write to your MP to ask them to sign. Find you MP and email address here. A model letter is here.

Dear (name of MP)
I am very concerned that there are six people on hunger strike, all on remand in UK prisons, so not found guilty of any crime, and there has been no engagement whatsoever from the Home Office.
These people, Amu Gibb, Heba Muraisi, Qesser Zuhrah, Jon Cink, Teuta Hoxha and Kamran Ahmed, are part of the Filton 24 and the Brize Norton 5. They are all very young. They have been without food now for nearly five weeks. This is taking an inevitable toll on their bodies and their families and loved ones are extremely concerned for their lives. . A seventh young person, Umer Khalid, started a hunger strike on 2nd December.
They have been detained as a deterrent against attempts to take any action that could stop export of weapons to Israel. It is our government’s determination to continue this trade that has provided fuel for so much disgust across the country and underpins the demands of the hunger strikers.
You can access more information about them at

I urge you to do everything you can to demand that the Ministry of Justice engages with their demands, and to sign the EDM (Early Day Motion) 2386: tabled on 01 December 2025
