Once again supporters of Palestine braved the weather and turned up to shout out for Palestine. After a week of provocation in the media, scurrilous accusations of ‘jew-hunting’ , and cancelled meetings as a result of threatening letter, it showed we will not be silenced.
At the rally we heard a statement from Sheffield Apartheid Free Zone and Sheffield Jews Against Israeli Apartheid denouncing the harassment and stating that the campaign, underpinned by anti racism and a commitment to Palestinian Liberation will continue.
We saluted our comrades who faced these false accusations . A wonderful highlight of the protest was a group of about 10 young men on their way to some Friday night revelry, who stopped and shouted Free Palestine.
Thanks to our generous supporters we collected Β£239 today for the Emergency Relief Fund.
