On Saturday (26 Oct), Israel attacked the last functioning hospital in the north of Gaza, killing dozens of people and arresting most of the doctors, leaving the wounded and dying without medical care. The area has been under siege for over 20 days. Israel’s plan is to make the north unlivable. This latest atrocity is likely to elicit the standard US and British response: “Israel has the right to defend itself.” This is the Biden-Starmer mantra, whether the IDF bombs civilian targets in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, Syria or Iraq.
